Tell me if I am wrong here, David…. but the Dormeuil fabrics I remember in the 1960s and 70s were so,much more “shiny” and shimmery than the modern weaves I see today?
Well you know I think they were probably a product of their time. Dormeuil is (and always was) a lot more trend aware than most cloth houses. Theres still some rather shimmery cloths in the celebration book, in particualr a silk that comes in burgundy and silver.
